Nhlanhla Mafu is beaming with pride after her son, Ciza, scored a major win at the Metro FM Music Awards 2026. The “Isaka” hitmaker was among the biggest winners of the night, taking home both Artist of the Year and Best Male Artist.
The awards ceremony took place on Saturday at the Durban ICC in Durban. Fans across the country tuned in as the event aired on SABC 1 and streamed on SABC+ from 20:00.
Following her son’s big moment, Nhlanhla took to Instagram to share an emotional message. She wrote, “@ciza We have witnessed the late nights, the discipline, the tears, and the faith you have poured into your gift. We have watched you work in silence… so today, we celebrate you loudly. These awards are not luck, they are answered prayers. stand proud, knowing that this is what God has ordained. God saw you. And in His perfect time, He honoured you. So today, I don’t argue,l give thanks. Because what God gives, no one can take away. Proud is an understatement, well done my baby and a Big thank you to all the Caesareans that voted*…#MMA26 Ciza to the world.”
Ciza also shared his gratitude with fans on Instagram after his big win. He wrote, “Thank you South Africa for believing in me. This isn’t validation-it’s love, and I feel it. Own pace. Own lane. Camagu!! love you. This is just the beginning… see you soon. Afrohouse to the world.”
The rising star continues to make waves in the music scene, with his hit song Isaka (6am) becoming a massive success. The track’s main version has already surpassed 48 million streams on Spotify, showing just how quickly Ciza’s career is growing.
