Set in Soweto, the series delivers suspense as viewers follow the life of Msebenzi, played by award-winning actor and director Thomas Gumede. Msebenzi is a 30-year-old smooth-talker with no real interest in building a career. Instead, he uses any means to survive and avoid dealing with his biggest problem: money. His plans often go wrong, turning the lives of his friends, family, and neighbours upside down. While he sometimes wins, his actions usually lead to chaos and unexpected consequences.

SAFTA nominee Duduzile Ngcobo plays MaGumede, Msebenzi’s strong and overbearing mother. She is deeply worried about her son’s unemployment and constantly pushes him to find a job. When he refuses to take action, she steps in and tries to fix his life herself.

The show also introduces MaMthimkhulu, the curious next-door neighbour played by Nthabiseng Gwinya. Known as the official MmaMghobozi, she cannot resist getting involved in other people’s business. Mondli Nkomo takes on the role of BabMthimkhulu, her husband, who is respected in the community and known as a devoted family man.

Comedian Kedibone Mulaudzi plays Mulaudzi, Msebenzi’s loyal friend who earns a living as a chicken mascot. He encourages Msebenzi to take control of his life and find a proper job.

Bongani Dube plays Dion, a serious and focused Chartered Accountant. Unlike his friends, Dion is fully committed to his career. He knows his worth and uses it to his advantage as he continues to climb the corporate ladder with ambition.

Make sure to tune in to the exciting comedy of Msebenzi every Sunday at 19:30 on SABC1, also simulcast on SABC Plus.
