Thato Immaculate Announces Separation From Husband

Actress and radio host Thato Immaculate has shared some sad news with her followers on social media. The media personality revealed in a personal statement that she is separating from her husband, Gashwan Brandon Mthombeni, after three years of marriage.

Thato posted an official statement explaining that recent incidents led her to make the decision to walk away from the relationship.

“I would like to address something personal and important. After three years of marriage, Gashwan Brandon Mthombeni and I are no longer together. Following incidents that happened the past few days that are irreconcilable by my standards and values, I have made the decision to walk away.”

She also shared that their families have already met to discuss the situation and that she remains firm in her decision.

“Our families have met to discuss the matters, and as I have shared with them and in his presence, this is a decision I stand firm on. Out of respect for our families and for the sake of my son, I will not be going into further details.”

Thato also asked the public not to turn the situation into a public feud between her and her husband.

“I respectfully ask that this does not turn into a Thato vs Gash1 battle. We met, fell in love, tried building a family to the best of our abilities. For me I am heartbroken but I need to soldier on and continue working.”

She explained that although the situation has been painful, she remains focused on moving forward and caring for her child.

“I would have never wanted to raise my child alone; however, I have always maintained that there are certain non-negotiables I cannot compromise on, no matter how insignificant to the next person. I will not betray myself, I never have and I am not going to start now.”

The actress also addressed speculation and made it clear that the separation was not caused by infidelity.

“Just to clear things up, it was not infidelity.”

In the caption of her post, Thato added that she will not comment further on the matter out of respect for their families.

Thato and Gashwan  first met on Season 3 of Big Brother Mzansi (Beke Le Beke) in 2022. They formed a close connection in the house and made their relationship official shortly before Thato’s eviction in March that year. Gash1 later finished the season as the runner-up.

Their relationship continued outside the house, and they eventually got married in 2022.

The couple also share a son together. In August 2025, they announced that they were expecting their first child. In September 2025, Thato shared the news on TikTok with a heartfelt caption.

“Our gift from God has finally arrived. Glory to Jesus. Our best kept secret.”

Although this chapter of her life has been difficult, Thato thanked her supporters for their love and understanding. She said she is now focused on building a healthy and happy future for herself and her child.

“Moving forward, it will just be me and my baby, and I am fully focused on building a healthy, happy future for us. I appreciate your continued support during this time.”
