Award-winning artist and influencer Liyema Pantsi is back in the Big Brother Mzansi house, and this time she says it’s all about rewriting her story. Liyema is one of the four housemates who were given a second chance to join Big Brother Mzansi Season 6, a move that immediately excited fans of the reality show.
Liyema is a fan favourite from Big Brother Mzansi Season 4: S’ya Mosha. During her first journey in the house, she made headlines when her stay came to a surprising end on Day 57. At the time, she made the bold decision to take R250 000 and leave the house, giving up her chance at winning the grand prize. While many viewers were shocked by her choice, Liyema has now revealed that her first experience did not give her what she hoped for.
Tumi to Liema: Why are you here?
Liema: I don’t have good memories of the house, I didn’t have friends. I was a threat. I was perceived as the naive girl chasing a guy who wanted three other girls. #BBMzansi pic.twitter.com/4m2sXkUmXI

Now 24 years old, Liyema says she is returning to the Big Brother Mzansi house with a fresh mindset and a clear reason for giving the game another chance. Speaking to one of the housemates, she opened up about why she decided to come back. “I really feel like my experience at the first house was short-lived and I really didn’t experience much,” she said.
Liyema went on to explain that her first stay in the house was not a positive one. “I don’t have good memories of the house. I didn’t have friends, I was how [stet] I am, but I threatened a lot of people and there was a lot of competition,” she said. According to Liyema, the environment made it difficult for her to fully enjoy the experience or be her true self.
She also admitted that she downplayed herself during her first time in the house, something she now regrets. “I was dating in the house as well and that was limiting my game and stressing me out because I would always fight for a man,” she shared. Liyema explained that her romantic involvement distracted her from focusing on the game and affected how she was seen by others.
Wanting a fresh start, Liyema said she felt the need to restart and retell her story. “Dating in the house can go well or bad, mine was bad because my person was not loyal in the house, so I was that girl who was chasing a guy and became a naïve psycho in the house and my partner was chasing four people,” she said.
In a short Big Brother Mzansi interview, Liyema made it clear that viewers should expect a very different version of her this season. She said she plans to be more fun, more honest, and less emotional. “My secret weapon for coming into this new season is honesty just having some fun, no feelings attached. I will be staying away from strikes this season. I’m going to keep it cute, I’m going to close my mouth this season. A little bit. My Big Brother love language is definitely the vibes. I loved dancing in the house and I had a trending dance. I want to shake tables up this season. I want to be the instigator this season, bazozwa ngami. Trouble, you know.”
With a renewed mindset and unfinished business, Liyema’s return to Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 promises drama, growth, and plenty of memorable moments.
