Actress, TV presenter, and well-known media personality Minnie Dlamini is celebrating an exciting milestone in her career after winning Best Actress for her role in the 48 Hour Film Project Durban 2025 film, SIRED. Minnie, who has been in the entertainment industry for many years, shared her joy and gratitude with fans through a heartfelt Instagram post that quickly received love and praise from across Mzansi.

Announcing the win, Minnie wrote: “WINNING. It’s always such a treat to create, have fun, play, and WIN with the people I grew up with. The same people I once dreamt of being in this business with. Seeing us all shine and grow in our own lanes is pure magic. Being able to uplift and inspire the next generation is even better.”

Her message reminded fans of how far she has come and how important teamwork and community are to her success. Minnie revealed that SIRED did not only bring her a personal win but also swept several major categories at the 48 Hour Film Project awards. The film took home:

  • Best Actress (Minnie Dlamini + Zazi Kunene)
  • Best Director (Mthokozisi Zulu)
  • Best Cinematographer (Zane Colquhoun)
  • Best Film – SIRED

One detail that touched many hearts was Minnie’s mention that 80% of the film’s crew were young people from KwaDabeka, and for most of them, it was their first time ever being on a film set. For Minnie, this made the victory even more meaningful, as she believes strongly in giving back and lifting up new talent. She shared that SIRED will represent Durban and South Africa at Filmapalooza 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal, a huge achievement for the entire team and the young creatives involved.

Her comments section quickly filled with praise, support, and excitement. Co-winner Zazi Kunene celebrated the moment, writing:

“This is family business, super proud of the whole team! @mthokozisi_zulu Again, you are a FORCE Sir.”

Director mthokozisi_zulu also expressed his joy, saying: “Yeaaaaaah! It is happening mngan’wami!!!! Aaaah Look at us grow! Such a blessing making magic with you!!!”

Crew member lisa_colquhoun_voa added a touching message: “Thank you, Minnie, for working with this amazing team and bringing life to the character.”

A fan summed up the love in the comments by writing: “One thing about you is that you are always winning.”

Minnie’s victory is not just a personal success—it is a celebration of teamwork, growth, and the power of giving young people an opportunity to shine.
