South African actress Lunathi Mampofu, known for her popular roles in The River, Levels, and Inimba, recently touched many hearts after making a warm and heartfelt surprise visit to a young girl named Kago at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital. Lunathi, joined by her daughter Skye, took time out of her busy schedule to show love, comfort, and support to the little girl who has been admiring her from afar.
The meaningful visit was made possible through Reach For A Dream, an organisation dedicated to helping children with serious health challenges experience moments of joy. After spending the day with Kago, Lunathi shared an emotional message about how much the moment meant to her. She wrote,
“Thank you Reach For A Dream for helping me make Kago’s dream come true today. Your kindness reminded me that hope is a powerful thing, and today, you gave a child’s heart a reason to shine a little brighter. I’m deeply grateful.
Seeing her joy reminded me why love, community and compassion matter so deeply. May we continue to stand for the dreams of our little ones. Yep, l’m a mom to another baby… my sweet angel KAGO UNATHI, I love your heart angel.”
The visit brought smiles, laughter, and happy tears. Lunathi and Skye spent time with Kago, lifting her spirits and giving her a day she will never forget. Kago’s mother later shared just how much the moment meant for their family.
She wrote, “Oooh Sis Lunathi, your presence meant EVERYTHING TO US. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for your kind heart. Bringing Sky to meet Kago brought tears of joy to my eyes – that thoughtfulness will stay with us forever. Kago can’t stop talking about you both, and as Kago’s mom, it fills my heart. “I honestly have no words right now still. What a blessing, and an experience, what a heart. Bless you mama, I wish I could hug you throughout the time. My heart is with you and KAGO, our baby… Skye was so emotional after we left and wanted us to take her with us. You’re such a blessing in your baby’s life sis, thank you for opening up your space to us both, what an incredible blessing. We will see you again soon. Stay strong and pray always.”
