Reality TV star Londie London, whose real name is Londiwe Zulu, has officially been crowned Best Female TV Personality at the 3rd annual National Film & Television Awards South Africa (NFTA). The star-studded event took place on Saturday, 22 November 2025, at the South African State Theatre in Pretoria and celebrated some of the country’s biggest names in film, TV, and digital entertainment.

Londie London is no stranger to reality TV fans. She first joined The Real Housewives of Durban as a full-time housewife in season two and later returned to the show in season five as a friend of the cast. Her return brought a lot of attention and conversation online, and now her latest win has sparked even more discussion.

While many fans congratulated her, not everyone was pleased with her taking home the award. On X (formerly Twitter), some users questioned the decision.

@CuratedbyIris wrote, “For what exactly lol?! Personality award for eng?.” Another user, @RyanLoneTwin, commented, “Sympathy votes Im sure.” Meanwhile, @lulu_zaR added, “Should’ve been ‘best woman’ Cause her patience deserved that.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Londie’s win marks a big moment in her TV journey. Her presence on reality TV has kept viewers talking for years, and the award proves she remains one of the industry’s most recognisable faces.

The night was also a major success for other stars and productions. Mzansi Magic’s hit historical drama Shaka iLembe won several awards, including Best Scripted TV Series. Angus Gibson walked away with Best Director, while Desiree Markgraff and Nomzamo Mbatha won Best Producer. Actor Zamani Mbatha also scored a big win with Outstanding Performance for his role in the series.

In another surprising moment, “Open Chats” took home the award for Best Podcast, despite facing controversy earlier this year. The win left many viewers talking, especially since the podcast has been trending for both good and bad reasons in recent months.

Other big winners of the night included Lawrence Maleka, who walked away with the award for Celebrity Personality of the Year. Another standout winner was Sweet Guluva, who took home the award for Best Male TV Personality.

Sphamandla Dhludhlu also celebrated a major achievement after winning Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series for his role in the Netflix series Marked.

The National Film & Television Awards continue to shine a light on local talent and celebrate the stars shaping South African entertainment. With more categories and growing recognition each year, the event remains one of the biggest platforms honouring excellence in film, television, and digital storytelling.
