South African media personality Ntando Duma recently had social media in laughter after posting her own version of the popular “What I Ordered vs What I Got” trend. The actress, who got married in February this year, shared how shocked and disappointed she was after receiving a completely different suit from what she had asked for.
On Sunday, Ntando opened up about what happened as she was preparing for the NTVF Awards, held on Saturday, 22 November 2025. She explained that she had been invited to present an award at the event, but things quickly fell apart when her outfit arrived. According to her, the person she trusted to create her outfit — someone who has designed many of her “iconic pieces” — failed her terribly this time.

In her video, she shared the full story and expressed her frustration.
“So I got invited to present an award at the NTVF Awards tonight, and I said yes, I’m gonna honour the invitation. My husband and I get outfits, well he gets his right and I asked this guy trusted with my life literally to put together a suit for me, butter yellow, it’s cute, and classy you know, elegant and I even sent him an inspo, right now I’m supposed to be there and I’m literally at home and I’m the first person on stage to present the first award. I’m gonna show you what I ordered vs what I got,” she said.
Ntando had envisioned a stylish butter-yellow suit — simple, clean, and classy. But what she ended up receiving looked nothing like her inspiration photo. Instead of being at the awards, she ended up at home, missing her chance to present the first award of the night.
Under her TikTok post, fans couldn’t help but laugh at the dramatic difference between the outfit she ordered and the one she actually received.
BekeTheBroker jokingly commented, “Wailit did you say you trusted this guy with your life?”
Ntando replied, “Yep. He has delivered some of my iconic pieces you probably have seen before and that’s why I keep making excuses for him shem. Maybe bekadakiwe.”
Another user, S, said, “He got the the color and measurements wrong but it looks neatly done.”
Ntando responded, “Not even close to ‘Neat’. It’s so terrible.”
ayanda_ayo_mbatha added, “Lol, listen I just watched this video on instagram but it’s so funny I’m watching again, I’m so sorry mommy.”
While Ntando didn’t make it to the awards stage, she definitely won the internet with her honesty and humour. Her video is a reminder that fashion mishaps happen, even to celebrities, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.
