Media personality and musician Jub Jub has publicly pleaded with singer Kelly Khumalo to stop painting him as a deadbeat father and to allow him to be part of their son’s life.

On Sunday, the Ndikhokhele hitmaker took to social media to express his pain and frustration, asking Kelly to give him access to their child. In a heartfelt video, Jub Jub began by thanking Kelly for raising their son during the time he was in prison for murder and driving under the influence of drugs.

“I’ve been looking at a lot of social media posts and comments and stuff about what the mother of my child has been saying about me,” he said. “I don’t understand what exactly you’re trying to do, but firstly, I would like to thank you for raising my boy at the time I couldn’t, when I was locked up.”

Jub Jub continued by showing gratitude to Kelly for being present when he was rebuilding his life after his release in 2017. “I would like to thank you for being there when I was still trying to get up on my feet,” he added.

However, the musician expressed disappointment at how Kelly has allegedly portrayed him to the public. “I don’t like what you are doing; don’t do that. Don’t lie about me and assassinate my character. Stop saying that when you look at the boy, he reminds you of me and that you look at him with anger,” he said.

Jub Jub revealed that he has been trying for years to reconnect with his son but has been met with resistance. “You know how many times I’ve tried to get ahold of you to try and get the boy. You know how many times your sister Gumede and your mother have been trying to talk about me meeting him,” he pleaded.

He also claimed that Kelly has been blocking his efforts to see their child and even ignored legal attempts. “I’ve tried going the legal route, but you and your lawyer ignored me,” he said, adding that he used to send gifts to his son every Christmas and birthday until Kelly began sending them back in 2014 and 2015.

“So many times I’ve wanted to pay damages and do things the right way traditionally, but you’ve been locking me out,” he said.

Jub Jub shared that the most painful part of this situation has been watching his son grow up from afar. “I want my child. Don’t make me look like a deadbeat father. I’m alive, I’m kicking, and I’ve been wanting Christian. Thank you for taking care of my child, but may I please have my son back,” he pleaded. “I’m not asking for full custody, I’m just asking to be present in my boy’s life.”

This comes weeks after Kelly Khumalo’s interview with L-Tido, where she spoke about her children’s fathers. In the interview, Kelly accused her baby daddies of not supporting their children. “I have never received any support, even financially; they are all useless, well, except for one, Senzo Meyiwa,” she said. “If he were here, trust me, he would’ve been hands-on and a responsible father.”

Jub Jub’s public appeal has since sparked emotional conversations online, with fans urging both parents to find peace for the sake of their son.
