Former Miss South Africa 2010 and newly appointed National Director of Miss Supranational South Africa, Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala, is making a powerful impact beyond the beauty stage. The inspiring star has turned her focus toward helping underprivileged children who have been diagnosed with autism, using her platform to raise awareness and build meaningful support systems.
Bokang took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about her latest initiative through the Bokang Montjane Foundation.
She posted, “AN AUSOME DAY WITH BOKANG !!! A big thank you to @racingtodayza and @alliedsteelrodesa for spending the day with us.
The AUTISM work done by our entire team at @bokangmontjanefoundation is incredible !!! We have partnered with 5 preschools and have opened our own centre providing Speech therapy and OT therapy is up and running !!! The need for therapies for children that have autism is high so if you are a speech therapist or OT and you can offer your time for 1 or 2 children please contact us we’d really appreciate it.”
She continued, “Let’s bridge the gap and give the necessary resources needed our ‘AUSOME’ children.
We are currently in need of setting up a beautiful OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY GYM and a beautiful playground for our children, if you know anyone who can assist please contact us or tag them.”
As a devoted mother herself, Bokang shared how deeply personal this cause is to her. “Being an Autism mom changed EVERYTHING for me, this programme for me is about more than education—it is about transforming lives. Through providing a safe, supportive, and specialised learning environment, our Autism Centre and program of partnering with other preschools equips children on the spectrum with the tools they need to succeed.”
She added that her mission is not just about helping children thrive but also about empowering their communities. “At the same time, it uplifts these communities by addressing the critical gaps in Autism care and education. This is a vital investment in the future of South Africa’s most vulnerable children, ensuring that no child is left behind simply because of where they come from.”
