South African actress, humanitarian, and storyteller Nomzamo Mbatha has taken on an exciting new role as the Cultural Curator of Inverroche, a proudly local and pioneering craft gin brand. This partnership blends African luxury with a deep respect for nature, highlighting the rich heritage of the Cape Floral Kingdom, where Inverroche was born.
Founded by Lorna Scott and her family in Stilbaai, Western Cape, Inverroche has grown from a small distillery to an international brand known for its craftsmanship, innovation, and connection to community. Its range of iconic gins, creamy liqueurs, and aged rum all showcase a harmony of flavours and a touch of indulgence, making it one of South Africa’s most celebrated premium spirits.
According to Creator Insider Africa, Nomzamo shared her excitement about her role, explaining what it means to her. “To be a Cultural Curator for Inverroche is not to simply represent the brand but to help shape how it is experienced,” says Mbatha. “It’s about telling the Inverroche story, and making a meaningful contribution to product, design and cultural moments in a way that honours conscious luxury.”
In the Inverroche advert, she expands beautifully on this vision, saying:
“When values and vision move in harmony something beautiful is born — a luxury that doesn’t take, it rather gives back, it nurtures nature, celebrates culture. It allows you to enjoy the finer things without compromise. It’s a devotion, a responsibility to tomorrow. When kindred spirits unite, communities grow stronger and what is precious is given a chance to thrive. I’m here to tell this African story and carry it to the world.”
For Nomzamo, this role aligns perfectly with her personal values. Known for her impact-driven work across acting, humanitarian efforts, and global storytelling, she believes luxury should be intentional and authentic. “Luxury and intentionality shouldn’t exist in silos,” she reflects. “True authenticity in luxury comes from honouring where you come from and celebrating your heritage.”
The partnership is not only a big moment for Nomzamo but also for Inverroche as it steps into a new chapter of visibility and influence. Damien Batteux, Global Brand Director for Inverroche at Pernod Ricard Africa, emphasised the importance of the collaboration. “Nomzamo’s role at Inverroche reflects our intention to be seen for the revolutionary brand that we are,” he said. “For too long we have been quietly crafting an exceptional, luxury gin. It’s high time we give Inverroche a voice, and who better to do that than our very own Nomzamo.”
With Nomzamo Mbatha bringing her creativity, passion, and storytelling to the brand, Inverroche is set to continue its journey as a leader in South African craft gin while proudly sharing its heritage with the world.
