Meet the Judges Behind the 2025 South African Social Media Awards

The South African Social Media Awards (SASMAs) are making a big return this year, and fans can expect one of the most exciting celebrations of online creativity yet. Set to take place on November 22, 2025, the event will honour the country’s top influencers, brands, and digital campaigns that have made waves across social platforms.

Known as the highest honour in South Africa’s social media space, the SASMAs stand out from other marketing and digital awards by focusing directly on the voices and creators who shape online culture. With 25 award categories, the show will recognise everything from viral challenges to powerful video storytelling.

What makes this year’s awards even more exciting is the impressive panel of judges. These five judges come from different parts of the entertainment and media world, bringing a wide range of experience and insight to the table.

First on the panel is Liyema Pantsi, an influencer and singer who knows exactly what it takes to connect with an audience. Next is Poloko Global, a well-known speaker and communication coach who helps people sharpen their message and delivery. Also judging this year is Sinemivuyo Mpulu, a talented voiceover artist whose work has been heard across media campaigns.

Joining them is Dezz Lee, an actor and television host, bringing a strong background in entertainment and storytelling. Rounding off the panel is Karen Mthethwa, a respected radio host with a sharp ear for impactful content and personalities.

With such a dynamic group of judges, this year’s SASMAs are set to be fair, exciting, and full of surprises.
