Global style icon and Grammy-winning South African star Tyla continues her meteoric rise, headlining H&M’s long-awaited Brazil launch with a show-stopping performance in São Paulo on 20 August.
The event — dubbed H&M&SP — transformed the iconic Auditório do Ibirapuera, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, into a celebration of music, fashion, and culture. Tyla, who fronts H&M’s Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, shared the stage with Brazilian legends Gilberto Gil, Anitta, Agnes Nunes, and Maz, bringing together a crowd of 3,000 guests for an unforgettable night.
Supermodel royalty Naomi Campbell, Adriana Lima, and Isabeli Fontana joined the festivities alongside Brazilian stars like Pabllo Vittar, Carol Trentini, and Fernanda Motta. Representing South Africa, Khanyisile Masina, Thato Nzimande, and Ntandokathixo Dwango were also in attendance as friends of the brand.
Tyla Steals the Show
As the face of H&M’s global “Beats of Brasil” campaign, Tyla’s performance was the night’s defining moment. Blending her sultry sound with infectious stage energy, she had the audience dancing and singing along, embodying the spirit of cross-cultural connection.
“Brazil feels like a second home to me, the country has this incredible energy that just pulls you in,” said Tyla after the show. “Performing at H&M&SP in São Paulo felt like a dream — everyone was dancing, vibing, and celebrating together. I felt deeply connected to the people and the moment. I love how music and fashion can bring people from different worlds into one shared experience. That’s what this night was all about.”
Her words captured the essence of the evening: music and fashion as unifying forces, breaking borders and blending cultures.
H&M&SP wasn’t just a launch — it was a creative statement. The event embodied the brand’s “Beats of Brasil” campaign, which celebrates diversity, rhythm, and expression through fashion and music.
“We’re thrilled to launch in Brazil and what better way to celebrate the beginning of a love story than with music in São Paulo — a melting pot of sounds, style, and creative expression,” said Jörgen Andersson, H&M’s Chief Creative Officer.
Brazilian superstar Anitta echoed the sentiment, adding:
“The beauty of Brazil is in our mix of people, rhythms, colours, and stories. Fashion should reflect the times we’re living in, and I’m happy to see a global brand arriving in Brazil with that kind of sensitivity.”
For Tyla, headlining H&M’s Brazil launch marks another milestone in a year defined by global stages, chart dominance, and cultural influence. As her music travels across continents and her image frontlines global fashion campaigns, Tyla is solidifying her position as a world-class artist and style icon — one who embodies the new era of African excellence on the international stage.
With the opening of its first Brazilian store, H&M has signaled its commitment to celebrating culture and creativity. And with Tyla at the center of it all, the launch was nothing short of iconic.
