Award-winning producer and club DJ Prince Kaybee, real name Kabelo Motsamai, has set social media ablaze after taking unprovoked shots at rapper Cassper Nyovest. The bold remarks have left the internet divided, with fans of both artists clashing in heated debates.
The drama started when a social media user, @Tlats_OVO, shared a controversial opinion comparing Cassper Nyovest to the late rapper AKA. The user admitted, “I’m ready to admit something I’ve denied for too long. AKA was a better rapper than Cassper
.”
I don’t understand how ANYONE in this world thinks cassper is a musician nor a rapper, WTF man😕 https://t.co/i3QSgll1oa

While many might have scrolled past the post, Prince Kaybee decided to jump into the conversation, delivering a stinging critique. “I don’t understand how anyone in this world thinks Cassper is a musician or a rapper, WTF man,” he wrote, leaving fans stunned.
A gimmick

When another user, @BastardZuma, asked Kaybee, “What is he to you?” the producer didn’t hold back, simply responding: “A gimmick.”
He is a gimmick, more a culture camouflage than anything really.
Does he have hits?, yes, as a gimmick 🙂

The conversation didn’t end there. Another Twitter user, @desdeersa, challenged him further, asking: “How comes he’s not a MUSICIAN nor a RAPPER?”
Prince Kaybee doubled down on his stance, responding: “He is a gimmick, more a culture camouflage than anything really. Does he have hits? Yes, as a gimmick.”
This sparked an immediate storm in the comment section. Cassper’s supporters rushed to his defence, with many accusing Prince Kaybee of jealousy. Others agreed with his stance, saying it was just an opinion.
One fan, @unclesplanet, wrote: “There’s a different angle to enjoy their music; if you don’t vibe with it, let that be your own opinion and problems to deal with.”
Another, @TheoMillie_, strongly disagreed with Kaybee’s take, saying: “Pretending as if Cass didn’t resurrect a dying genre and literally became the biggest artist in the country and one of the biggest artists in the continent for several years is genuinely retardation… 100% bigger than you.”
User @blackmamba_nam broke it down in numbers, listing Cassper’s achievements over Kaybee:
1. Cassper has more followers
2. More success
3. Travelled the world more
4. Bigger collaborations
5. More awards and endorsements
While Prince Kaybee’s comments were brief, they sparked a major online conversation about artistry, talent, and personal bias in the South African music industry.
