SAMA-nominated director, breakout star of Shaka iLembe, and now a proud author — Ntando Rambani is celebrating a year filled with milestones. As she turns 30, gets married, and releases her first book, she reflects on her journey, her family, and the lessons that shaped her.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Clicks Magazine, Ntando described turning 30 as a moment of gratitude and renewal.
“I feel so grateful for the gift of life, for the opportunity to pursue my dreams and desires, and to have lived another year surrounded by the people I love,” she shared.
For Ntando, this new decade is about growth, learning, and embracing her purpose. “I believe I’m a work in progress… I’m excited to continue learning and evolving as a person. I’ve been entrusted by God to fulfil my purpose, and I’m ready to rise to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
Her celebrations this year are extra special, thanks to her loving husband, musician Una Rams. The two wed in an intimate and private ceremony — a choice that was deeply personal for her.
“Given my public life and status, I crave normalcy and intimacy. My wedding was a precious moment I wanted to share solely with loved ones, away from the spotlight.”
Ntando recalls meeting Una two years ago at a gig in Venda and instantly feeling a connection. “When he consistently kept every single promise to me, I just knew it was something, and someone, special.”
While her marriage marks one beautiful chapter, another exciting milestone is the release of her new parenting book. For years, people have sought her advice on raising children, but she never wanted to hand out generic tips.
“I figure what works for me might not work for someone else, so I decided rather to share my own journey instead.”
The book focuses on honesty, grace, and embracing support. “One key lesson I’ve learned is the importance of giving myself grace and embracing the support of my community when needed. I wish I could have known it earlier to spare myself some stress.”
Her hope for readers is simple yet powerful: “I hope my story inspires them to be kind to themselves and to cherish the moments, even the tough ones — and also understand how much of a blessing motherhood and parenthood is.”
Motherhood has also inspired her entrepreneurial side. When her daughter dreamed of owning a salon, Ntando helped bring it to life. The result was Sbahle Siyakhula, a space combining beauty and learning, complete with an in-salon library called Sbahle Siyafunda.
Between acting, directing, entrepreneurship, and now writing, Ntando says “home” is wherever she can grow and express herself authentically. But 2025 stands out as a year where her personal and creative worlds have beautifully come together, a year of love, purpose, and celebrating life’s blessings.
