The Basadi in Music Awards 2025 celebrated another year of honouring incredible women in the music industry, and one of the night’s biggest winners was presenter, radio host, and writer Relebogile Mabotja. She proudly walked away with the award for TV Producer of the Year, a recognition that left her both emotional and grateful.

The prestigious awards ceremony returned for its fourth year on 1 and 2 August 2025 at the Joburg Theatre, under the theme “The Symphony of Harmony.” This theme celebrated the power, unity, and diversity of women in South African music, proving that women aren’t just part of the industry—they are shaping and leading it.

Relebogile couldn’t hide her joy as she expressed what the award meant to her. “To say I’m proud of myself is a small understatement. Especially because I have struggled and continue to struggle with not just celebrating myself but also truly relishing and absorbing and marinating and digesting and processing the moments of success,” she shared.

She went on to reflect on her long journey in the industry. “This may have been for one show but it feels like it’s for all the hard work in my entire career. Many don’t know this, but I started working in production at the age of 18 as a production assistant straight off the theatre stage as a performer. It has been a very long and tough journey and I am overjoyed that it’s harvest season,” she said with gratitude.

Relebogile hopes this win will inspire others. “May such moments open even more doors for more women at the table and even more to build their own. Thank you Hloni Modise and @BasadiAwards for this platform. We appreciate the recognition. Thank you for seeing us. Thank you for seeing me.”

Aside from the award, her stunning outfit also caught attention. Speaking about her elegant look, she said, “Last night’s look: Mother Earth. We took inspo from the earth from space at night. An ode and reminder to how small we are in the much bigger picture in all the elements of earth, wind, water and fire. Thank you @tomircreations for making me so gorgeous!!”

She ended her celebration by thanking her supporters for voting: “Last night I was awarded the Entertainment TV Producer of the Year Award at the Basadi in Music Awards for @tyla’s Homecoming Concert Live on @showmaxonline. Thank you for all of the votes & the support! Beyond grateful for the honour!”
