Nandi wrote, “We are the children. As some of you may know, my son Shaka is obsessed with Michael Jackson and absolutely loves performing. He’s watched the Netflix documentary ‘The Greatest Night in Pop’ more times than I can count, completely mesmerised by seeing all his idols in one room.”

She went on to share how this experience reminded her of her own childhood. “This moment feels so full circle watching him play it on the piano as he is 8 years old and I was once that age singing to ‘We Are the World,’ a song created for Africa, a song that made us feel seen. And now, decades later, I get to watch my son connect to that very same music in his own way.”

Nandi, who works at Apple Music, reflected on the power of music in her life and across generations. She said, “Working at Apple Music, I’m reminded every day of how powerful music is. How it heals, how it connects us, and how it transcends time. This is legacy. This is the power of music. This is the magic of a song that continues to move hearts across generations.”

She ended the post by tagging her son’s Instagram account, writing, “@shakamadida.”

Fans were touched by the post and flooded the comments section with praise for Shaka’s talent and Nandi’s parenting. Many wrote sweet messages like, “Intentional parenting,” and “Incredible talent young man.”
