Tyla Honoured as Variety’s 2025 Young Hollywood Star

South African Grammy-winning singer Tyla continues to make waves on the global stage! The rising music star has officially been named one of Variety’s 2025 Power of Young Hollywood honourees, joining a powerful list of young entertainers who are shaping the future of the industry.

Variety’s annual list shines a spotlight on some of the most promising talents in the entertainment world, and Tyla’s name is right up there with stars like Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things and Sam Nivola from The White Lotus. The magazine’s Power of Young Hollywood issue is known for highlighting rising talents whose work is changing the game, and this year, Tyla is one of the standout names.

The celebration will take place at the much-anticipated Young Hollywood party on 7 August 2025 in Los Angeles. The glamorous event, presented by SanDisk, will include a red carpet moment, a cocktail hour, and a big “class photo” of all the 2025 honourees featured in the issue.

Tyla’s recognition is well deserved. Known for blending pop, R&B, and South Africa’s amapiano sound, Tyla rose to global fame in 2023 with her smash hit “Water.” The song earned her a Grammy Award, 2x-platinum certification, and the honour of being the highest-charting African female soloist on the Billboard Hot 100.

Her debut album, simply titled “TYLA,” dropped in March 2024 and became a huge success, with 12 songs charting on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Chart and over one billion Spotify streams in less than three months. She followed up with her deluxe project “TYLA+” in October, led by the catchy single “Push 2 Start.”

Tyla’s star power grew even more in the summer of 2024, with unforgettable performances at major events like the Paris Olympics and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She also took home major awards from the VMAs, BET Awards, and Billboard Music Awards.

Outside of music, Tyla has become a fashion icon, appearing on the covers of British Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan. Her global reach is not only helping her own career soar, but also putting amapiano on the world map.

With more music on the way and a dedicated team behind her, Tyla’s journey is only beginning.
