“I Totally Froze” – Ashley Ogle Overwhelmed After Fans Gift Her R500K and More

Former Big Brother Mzansi housemate Ashley Ogle was brought to tears on Saturday, 31 May, after her fans surprised her with a heartfelt celebration and a life-changing gift. Ashley, who spent 29 days in the Big Brother Mzansi house, was honoured by her loyal supporters with a surprise party and an incredible R500,000 in cash—along with several other thoughtful gifts.

The intimate celebration hosted only 25 invited guests, but the atmosphere was filled with love and emotion. According to Daily Sun, fans  travelled from different parts of South Africa, including Cape Town and Durban, and some even came from as far as Botswana, just to show Ashley how much she means to them.

“I didn’t expect what I received,” Ashley said with gratitude. “The event was amazing. They are beautiful people, and may God bless them all.”

According to Daily Sun, the generosity didn’t stop at R500,000. Ashley also received an additional R10,000 from her East African supporters to cover her fuel expenses and a R5,000 voucher from Zara to refresh her wardrobe.

Recalling the emotional moment she learned of the surprise, Ashley said, “My reaction was quite epic and comical. I totally froze. I got weak at the knees. It was more than what I could’ve ever dreamt of.”

As a woman of strong faith, Ashley was especially touched by the spiritual gifts she received. “Some were so specific and included God, which meant a lot to me. They motivated me to believe even more in what God can do.”

For Ashley, the celebration felt like her first real birthday party. “I’ve never had a birthday party before. Now, I understand why people have them. It was amazing.”

Her fan base, affectionately known as the Maddies, Ashes, and Ashangels, continues to support and uplift her. “They drag me, support me, and love me. The bond is real,” she said warmly.

Ashley also reflected on her time on Big Brother Mzansi, calling it a divine purpose. “My time in Big Brother Mzansi has made a lot of difference. I stayed there for four weeks. The celebration we had was for 29 days of entertainment—not even a full month—and I believe God brought me there for a reason. He took me there for a short period and showed His power through me.”

Grateful for all the love, Ashley concluded, “I know it took villages and the whole country to do it. I wish I had the ability to thank everyone individually.”
