Reality TV star and fashion influencer Kefilwe Mabote has made headlines once again — this time for setting her Christian Dior tote bag on fire. Known for her luxury fashion taste, the Young, Famous & African star shocked followers by burning one of her prized designer items as part of her spiritual journey.

Kefilwe shared a powerful video on social media showing the moment she torched the Dior bag, explaining her decision in a deeply spiritual message:

“That moment you realise the ‘gift’ was a gateway, a soul tie sitting pretty in your wardrobe. Burnt it like the altar of Baal! I refuse to carry spiritual baggage dressed as sentiment. If it wasn’t sealed in covenant, it has no place in my life.”

She also quoted a Bible verse from Exodus 34:13-14: “Tear down their altars, smash their sacred stones… Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” She ended the post with a striking combination of words: “DIOR. CHRIST. #CutTheTie #CovenantOnly”

This isn’t the first time Kefilwe has destroyed expensive fashion items in the name of spiritual cleansing. Earlier in January 2025, she posted a video of herself burning Versace clothing, particularly those that displayed the famous Medusa emblem.

At the time, many of her followers were confused and asked why she didn’t simply donate the items. In response, Kefilwe wrote a detailed post to clarify her choice: “I’ve  been getting questions about why I chose to burn Versace items instead of giving them away, and I want to take a moment to explain this with care and understanding,” she said.

“According to the Bible, such things are considered ‘accursed’ (see Joshua 7:13 for context). The image of Medusa represents a Greek god, from the marine kingdom. As believers, we cannot serve two masters.”

She explained that giving the items away would mean passing on something she spiritually rejected: “To give these items away would be to pass on something I no longer stand for, and I can’t, in good conscience, transfer things that I know carry deep spiritual implications.”
