Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa is giving fans a rare and intimate look behind the scenes of her life as an actress on Netflix’s South African drama series Blood Legacy. Known for her compelling role as Gabisile Ndlovu, Enhle took to social media to show how she steps out of her everyday self and fully transforms into the fierce and complicated character.
From wardrobe fittings and hair styling to makeup sessions and funny bloopers on set, Enhle brought fans along for the ride. One hilarious moment she shared involved an underwater scene. While filming in a pool, she came up for air—only to realise her wig had stayed behind in the water. It’s moments like these that remind fans of the real work, and humour, that happens behind the camera.
In Blood Legacy, Enhle plays Gabisile Ndlovu, the poised and protective wife of Siya Ndlovu, portrayed by Mike Mawandla. Siya is considered the “black sheep” of the powerful Ndlovu family as he struggles with his sexuality. Despite his personal challenges, Gabisile is determined to keep their marriage intact—more for reputation than love. Her character is layered, willing to do whatever it takes to maintain the image of perfection.
The series itself, created and written by Diego Gutiérrez and produced by Gambit Films, follows the story of Khanyi Adesina, who returns home after years of separation to fight for control of her family’s collapsing business empire. Blood Legacy is adapted from the Mexican series Monarca and debuted on Netflix on September 20, 2024, with 20 gripping episodes.
During one of her recent Instagram posts, Enhle responded to a fan’s burning question about whether a second season is in the works. When asked, “When is season 2 coming?” Enhle playfully replied, “just know it is,” ending the message with a red heart emoji.
Until then, fans will have to rewatch the drama, enjoy Enhle’s fun behind-the-scenes moments, and keep guessing what’s next for Gabisile Ndlovu.
