Reality TV star, DJ, and entrepreneur Gogo Skhotheni has just reached a major milestone — one million followers on Instagram — and she’s over the moon with gratitude.
On Friday, 9 May 2025, she took to Instagram to thank her followers for their support. In a heartfelt post, she wrote:
“MILLION STRONG! I’m beyond grateful for every single one of you. Thank you for the love, support, shares, comments, and constant energy. This journey wouldn’t be the same without YOU. Here’s to growing, glowing, and making more memories together. Let’s keep building!”
Her fans quickly filled her comments section with congratulatory messages, celebrating with her as she reached this social media milestone.
This celebration comes just days after another personal highlight — her 33rd birthday. Gogo Skhotheni, whose real name is Tumi Motsoeneng, celebrated her birthday on Monday, 5 May, with a black-themed party at the luxurious Pere House in Kyalami. The event was attended by her closest friends and family, all dressed elegantly in black and white to match the classy theme.
She also shared beautiful images from the celebration on Instagram and expressed her deep appreciation to everyone who made her birthday unforgettable.
“What a night to remember! I’m deeply grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate my special day — family, friends, and loved ones, thank you for making it magical.”
But the celebration didn’t stop at cake and music. Gogo Skhotheni also marked her birthday with a powerful spiritual transformation. She was baptised by religious leader Son of John, also known as John Kgabi. He led a Holy Communion service that officially welcomed her into Christianity — a big step in her faith journey.
Just a few weeks before her birthday, Gogo Skhotheni had announced that she was no longer practicing as a sangoma. The news surprised many of her followers and quickly went viral. In a video, she said:
“I’m officially making this video to announce that I am no longer a traditional healer… I’m no longer giving out isidliso, I’m no longer giving out imbiza and everything else… I’ll forever acknowledge and respect my ancestors, and I am a child of God.”
