Tumi Motsoeneng, better known to many as Gogo Skhotheni, celebrated her 33rd birthday in a way that was not only glamorous, but also deeply spiritual. The reality TV star marked her special day on Monday, 5 May, with a stunning black-themed celebration held at the elegant Pere House in Kyalami — and with a life-changing baptism that marked a new chapter in her faith journey.
The celebration was attended by close friends and family, all dressed to match the classy black-and-white theme. Tumi shared beautiful photos from the event and expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the night unforgettable.

But while the evening was full of joy and glamour, the morning held a deeper and more personal transformation for Gogo Skhotheni. On the same day as her birthday, she was baptised by Son of John, also known as John Kgabi. He also led a Holy Communion service that officially welcomed her into the Christian faith.
Sharing her spiritual journey, Tumi reflected on the powerful moment: “Today marks the most sacred turning point of my life, and it’s no coincidence that it happens on my birthday. I once walked a path deeply rooted in ancestral calling as a sangoma, seeking truth and healing the only way I knew. But in the quiet cries of my soul, Jesus found me. He called me out of the shadows and into His marvellous light.”
She added, “I have laid down the bones, the beads, and the burdens, and in return I have received grace, peace and eternal life. Through baptism, I have died to my old self and risen with Christ. This is not only a new chapter, it is a whole new life. I am no longer who I was. On the very day I was born into this world, I have now been born again in spirit. Reborn, redeemed and restored by the blood of Jesus. To Him be all the glory.”
