Dr. Musa Mthombeni is in celebration mode once again! The beloved media personality and qualified radiologist recently took to Instagram to share a special achievement, and as always, he added his signature humour to the moment.
Posting a picture of balloons spelling out “CONGRATS,” Dr. Musa had his followers curious about the big news. In his caption, he revealed the source of the congratulatory message: his wife, Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni.
“This week, I received a ‘Congratulations, we are pleased to inform you…’ email,” he wrote. “Upon further inspection of the email, I realized that it was from Dr. Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni, congratulating me on being married to her.”
With his usual wit, he continued, “I must say, with many things that I have done in my life, this is definitely one of my highest achievements. Thank you very much, baby, for the opportunity to be your husband. You will not regret it.”
However, he joked that the only issue with this “achievement” was that it came without a salary. “The only troubling thing with this email was that it did not come with a remuneration package. For some odd reason, it has me spending money, but it’s fine as long as I have Dr. LLM.”
Musa ended his post in his usual playful manner, teasing his followers: “Onwards and upwards! Stop asking me what the real reason for the congratulations is. You’ll find out next time on DragonBall Z.”
Musa’s humorous take on his latest “win” comes nearly a year after a significant academic achievement. In March 2024, he officially became a qualified Diagnostic Radiologist after graduating from The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
At the time, he expressed his gratitude to his wife for her unwavering support. “To the lady of my dreams who was there when the dream became a reality,” he wrote on Instagram. “For all the hours spent away from you whilst studying. For all the meals you prepared whilst I was sweating in the study room. For all the long nights I’d come to bed at 4 a.m. and mistakenly wake you up. For all this and more, thank you, my baby. I love you always.”
He jokingly declared his wife as a “specialist radiologist by marriage.” The joyous occasion was celebrated at Tempo Luxury Restaurant with his wife, mother, close friends, and family.
Recently, Musa reflected on his graduation and hinted at a possible new challenge.” I can’t believe it’s been a year since I graduated! Crazy where the time goes! It’s been a while since I graduated, I think I need to do something about that,” he wrote.
Then, with another humorous twist, he teased his followers about switching career paths.” How many APS points do you need to study accounting again? I’m asking for a dark and sexy friend. Dr. Musawenkosi Mthombeni CA (SA) does have a nice ring to it, yaz!”
He closed off with an inspiring message: “Happy Monday lovers and friends. Let’s keep cooking! Whether it’s iphalishi or the next level in life. Let’s keep at it!”
