Businesswoman Shaun “Mam Mkhize,” also known for her role as the owner and president of Royal AM Football Club, has issued a media statement responding to the ongoing issue of unpaid salaries for December 2024. The club, which is currently under curatorship due to a preservation order from SARS, has assured players, staff, and fans that efforts are underway to resolve the situation.
In the statement, Mam Mkhize said:
“Royal AM Football Club wishes to address the unfortunate situation regarding the non-payment of salaries for December 2024, affecting our valued players, technical team, and staff. We acknowledge the hardship this has caused and extend our heartfelt apologies to those impacted, including their families.”
The club has been under the management of curator Mr. Jaco Venter since the preservation order was issued, which has temporarily limited their ability to access funds. Despite this, Mam Mkhize emphasised that the club’s leadership, including the CEO and General Manager, is working closely with the curator to resolve the financial issues as quickly as possible.
“The club’s management team has been working diligently with the curator to secure the necessary permissions to release funds for salary payments. It has always been the ethos of Royal AM to prioritize the well-being of our personnel, and we remain dedicated to upholding that principle despite the current challenges.”
Mam Mkhize also expressed gratitude to the players, staff, and their families for their patience during this difficult time, as well as to the fans and sponsors for their continued support.
