Mzansi Magic’s hit telenovela My Brother’s Keeper has captivated audiences since its debut in October 2023, drawing viewers in with its intense family drama, ambitious power struggles, and gripping performances. Set within the powerful Shabalala family empire, the show explores the complex relationships between patriarch Mshengu (played by Lindani Nkosi), his sons, and their wives, all while navigating ambition, greed, and family loyalty.
However, fans will have to bid farewell to the series sooner than expected. According to True Love, Mzansi Magic has confirmed that My Brother’s Keeper will conclude in April 2025, following the final episode of Umkhokha: The Curse in February 2025.
Shirley Adonisi, the Director of Local Channels at M-Net, praised both Umkhokha: The Curse and My Brother’s Keeper for showcasing the incredible talent within South Africa. “From the brilliant minds of our writers and producers to the powerful performances of our actors, these shows have brought our stories to life in a way that resonates deeply with audiences,” she said. “We are deeply grateful to Rhythm World Productions and the outstanding cast and crew who turned these shows into the phenomenon they have become.”
My Brother’s Keeper has kept fans hooked with its star-studded cast and dynamic characters. From the stern family patriarch Mshengu to the captivating matriarch MaMchunu (played by Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala), the show has delivered drama with every twist. Viewers have also enjoyed the comedic moments brought by brothers Donga (S’dumo Mtshali) and Nqubeko (Wiseman Mncube), along with the strong-willed Fakazile (Zola Nombona), Ndumiso (Nkanyiso Mchunu), and the fierce Puseletso (Rosemary Zimu).
