Presenter Karabo Ntshweng has shared the emotional news that her father has been found after being kidnapped outside his home in Danville, Pretoria.
On Wednesday, Ntshweng took to X (formerly Twitter), asking the public for help in locating her father, who had been taken in a Ford Kuga. She wrote, “We also suspect that he could be driven around in Joburg in a Ford Kuga. Please can you be on the lookout and share this post. Thank you.”
By Thursday morning, Ntshweng posted a heartfelt update: “He is alive but in a bad state and currently in hospital. Thank you so much for sharing the post. It really helped.”
The 5FM presenter revealed that the widespread sharing of the missing person poster on social media played a crucial role in locating her father. According to Ntshweng, a nurse at the hospital where her father was admitted recognised him after seeing the post online. The nurse then contacted Ntshweng through the details on the poster.
“Social media helped so much. Apparently, one of the nurses saw my post and recognised that she had been attending to my dad who was brought into the hospital. She then got hold of us via contact details on the poster. Yoh guys, thanks so much for sharing the post. It helped so much,” Ntshweng said.
