“Losing Lerato 2″ Returns in August with New Cast Member Nefisa Mkhabela

The much-anticipated sequel to Kagiso Modupe’s thrilling movie Losing Lerato is set to captivate Mzansi audiences once again. Losing Lerato 2  will be available for streaming on Netflix starting August 2nd, promising another gripping installment of this heartfelt drama.

Joining the cast for the second season is actress Nefisa Mkhabela, widely recognised for her role as Onalerona on eTV’s House of Zwide.  Nefisa will portray an older Lerato, adding a new dynamic to the storyline. The news of her casting was first revealed by entertainment commentator Jabulani Macdonald on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

Originally released in 2019, Losing Lerato follows the story of Thami, a divorced and frustrated father played by Kagiso Modupe, who is denied access to his daughter, Lerato. Driven by desperation, Thami kidnaps Lerato from school, leading to a high-stakes hostage situation that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

Nefisa shared her excitement about the role by posting the trailer for Losing Lerato 2 on her Instagram page. Fans can look forward to a compelling continuation of the emotional and intense narrative that made the original film a hit.
