Mr JazziQ is set to release a heartfelt tribute to the late Amapiano icons, Killer Kau and Mpura, with his upcoming single, ‘MAGENTS (KHULULU)’.
The renowned South African DJ and record producer, whose real name is Tumelo Manyoni, has teamed up with fellow Amapiano artists Robot Boii and Jay Music for this special project. The track, which drops on May 24th, promises to capture the essence of the beloved genre while paying homage to the talents of the fallen stars.
Killer Kau and Mpura, both influential figures in the Amapiano scene, tragically lost their lives in a car accident in 2021. Their sudden departure left a significant void in the music community. Mr JazziQ, deeply affected by the loss of his friends, channeled his grief and admiration into the creation of ‘MAGENTS (KHULULU)’.
In a statement about the upcoming release, Mr JazziQ expressed his excitement and emotional connection to the project. “I am really excited about this release, firstly because I worked with two of my favourite artists in Amapiano. The name of the song is ‘Magents (Khululu),’ and it’s a song dedicated to our late friends who we lost in a car accident almost four years ago, which was very sad,” he shared.
‘MAGENTS (KHULULU)’ is expected to resonate deeply with fans, both as a powerful tribute and as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Amapiano genre. This release not only celebrates the lives and legacies of Killer Kau and Mpura but also underscores the unity and resilience within the Amapiano community.
As the release date approaches, anticipation builds among fans eager to hear the collaborative efforts of Mr JazziQ, Robot Boii, and Jay Music, and to honour the memory of two of Amapiano’s brightest stars.
