Bryoni Govender is a South African model, who placed second in the 2023 Miss South Africa held at SunBet Arena, Times Square in Pretoria on Sunday 13 August. She is set to represent her country in Miss Universe. But who is the Mzansi beauty?
BRYONI IS OF SOUTH INDIAN ETHNICITY
Hailing from Kempton Park, Johannesburg Bryoni Govender was born on 17 July 1996. As of this writing, she is 27 years old and her star sign is Cancer. Additionally, Bryoni is ethnically South Indian and her mother’s name is Shireen Govender.
BRYONI GOT INTO MODELLNG WHILE STILL A TEENAGER
Govender’s interest in modelling started when she was a teenager. Through practice and support from her parents, Bryoni has grown to become among the top models in SA.
In 2018, she entered the Miss SA competitions, where became the Gauteng Regional Qualifier. She made it to the top 12 qualifiers but the title that year went to Tamaryn Green.
Bryoni joined Miss SA 2023 competitions and was part of the cast in the reality show, Crown Chasers. There, she managed to come up second after Natasha Joubert, who took home the crown. Govender is now set to represent South Africa in the Miss Universe pageant.
BRYONI IS A LAWYER
Govender went to Ashton International College in Benoni from 2010 to 2014. Later, she joined the University of Johannesburg in 2016 and graduated in 2020 with a law degree.
The model has worked as a legal advisor for various firms such as Client Secondment and UJ Law Clinic. Additionally, she was an attorney and associate at Eversheds Sutherland SA.
BRYONI IS IN A HAPPY RELATIONSHIP
The talented model is currently dating former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic. Samir, born on 13 June 1992 has also played for Pohronie, Slovan Duslo Šaľa, Dunajská Streda ViOn Zlaté Moravce and Royal AM F.C.
