The condition of 7de Laan actor David Rees continues to raise concern within his family as he remains critically ill in the hospital.
Rees, known for portraying Chris Welman in the iconic soapie, suffered a heart attack. Subsequently, his family and fellow cast members appealed to the public for contributions to cover his medical expenses. As of August 14, 2023, the BackaBuddy crowdfunding platform has raised R84,000.

TREATMENT FOR LUNG INFECTION Rees’ publicist, Corlia Strauss, revealed he is undergoing treatment for a lung infection.
Strauss told TshisaLIVE, “Despite these trying circumstances, the family is coping. It’s never easy in situations like this. The BackaBuddy fund is ongoing, and we’re grateful for the support we’ve received.”
