7 Things You Need To Know About Scandal’s Thuso Mbedu

Thuso Mbedu has been making waves ever since she got her big break on Isibaya. She has since joined the casts of Scandal and Saints and Sinners where she has recurring roles. Check out seven things you might not know about this actress to watch.

1. Thuso Mbedu was born and raised in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal.

2. She graduated with Honours at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2013. She majors in Physical Theatre and Performing Arts Management.

3. The beauty did a beginner’s modeling course in 2008 that included ramp modeling but had to stop in the year 2009 because she chose to focus on her studies.

4. She loves basketball and has a deep desire to get more involved with the basketball scene in South Africa, especially with the Basketball Without Borders initiative.

5. In 2012 the actress attended the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City, the school’s notable alumni include Robert De Niro, Martin Sheen and Salma Hayek among many others.

6.The 24 year old has appeared in some of the biggest soapies and TV drama series in SA including her current Scandal, Saints and Sinners and a cameo in Isibaya.

7. “I don’t believe in luck, but I do consider myself blessed. I have some friends who are still looking for work and I’ve landed two major roles already”, she has said in an interview.
