5 Shocking Revelations From Thando Thabethe’s Alleged Protection Order Against Ex, Lunga Shabalala. Before calling it quits for good in October 2022, Thando and Lunga had been in an on again, off again relationship for at least two years.
Whilst they kept their breakup private and kept it moving, it seemed as if the ex couple had ended their relationship on a good note as they continued following each other on social media (they have since unfollowed each other). In a recent episode of Thando’s BET Africa reality show, ‘Unstoppable Thabooty’, her ex was mention after they attended the same event.
“Obviously it’s a little bit weird to be at an event with somebody who you’d ordinarily be at the event with,” Thando said on her show and admitted she had greeted him. The episode aired on the 3rd of June 2023 and as it turns out, she had obtained an interim protection order against Lunga at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court the previous day, 2 June 2023.
According to City Press, Thando obtained the protection order in a bid to ensure her safety and well-being following alleged several incidents by Lunga that have left Thando unsettled.
From allegedly trying to communicate incidents where he observes Thando’s lights turning off to trying to contact her through her friends, here are five shocking revelations from Thando Thabethe’s reported interim protection order against Lunga Shabalala.
1. Lunga allegedly threatened to impede the airing of one of her TV programs, (we’re guessing it’s the episode on Thando’s reality show where his name is mentioned) prompting Thando’s urgency in obtaining the protection order. She reportedly feared his reaction once the show would go on air.
2. Thando reportedly mentioned instances when Lunga followed and appeared at a production set, and allegedly went as far as making threats to disrupt proceedings.
3. On the 3rd of March 2023, Lunga allegedly gained access to Thando’s residential complex under false pretense in an attempt to retrieve his belongings.
4. Lunga allegedly also showed up at Thabethe’s workplace on 5 May 2023 and following her to a nearby restaurant on 12 May 2023.
5. Lunga allegedly got upset when Thando traveled to Durban, insisting on knowing who had accompanied her.
Thabethe reportedly also requested the court to prevent Lunga from disclosing any private electronic communications shared during their relationship.
