Five facts to know about Faith Baloyi! Faith Baloyi is set to become the actress you love to hate in the upcoming Showmax series called Blood Psalms. There is however a lot to love about the actress behind all the legendary characters she has portrayed over the years.

With a bright future in Hollywood following her stellar performance in Flatland, in which she was dubbed the breakout star, we’re glad to see Baloyi return home to lead major productions such as the anticipated Blood Psalms. The educated actress has had a colourful career but here are some fun facts you might still not know about her.

1. Faith is not only an actress, she is also a voice over artist, writer and a designer based in Johannesburg.

2. Baloyi is a graduate from Wits University with a Masters of Arts degree in which she majored her undergrad in Drama and Film.

3. The actress went into the film industry in 2007. In 2017, she made her Hollywood debut in the film, Beautifully Broken.

4. Some of the films and TV series Faith has featured in include her leading role in The Colored Museum, Romeo and Juliet, Ska Nkatamela Tsotsi, drama soapies Generations and 91 Plein Street, she also hosted a radio show on Channel Africa called, African Dialogue.

5. She plays the character of villain Queen Assili in the Showmax series, Blood Psalms. She had this to say about what challenged her whilst filming Blood Psalms.

“I had to constantly remind myself that I am not Queen Assili because of the many terrible things she does to people. I had to re-align myself by engaging in activities that helped me get back to myself. The snakes were another challenge. I don’t like snakes so I had to get over my fear of snakes. I’m very proud of myself that I made friends with Snowy but I’m glad it’s behind me.“

The first two episodes of Blood Psalms will premiere on Showmax on 28 September 2022, with new episodes every Wednesday until the end of November 2022.
